Microsoft and Taiwan's HTC signed an agreement on the use of patents, according to an official press release.
Under the agreement, HTC will be able to use patented Microsoft technologies in the production of smartphones based mobile platform Android. During that Microsoft will pay, the exact amount of which is not reported. Microsoft is the owner of numerous patents relating to the interface OS Windows Mobile, and mobile devices. The Corporation did not state exactly which patents are used by HTC. In this Microsoft said that all patent agreement with the company signed more than 600 manufacturers. Program on Intellectual Property Licensing was started Microsoft in December 2003.
HTC is the manufacturer of a number of smart phones based on Android, such as Desire, Legend, Magic, and Google Nexus One. In addition to smart phones based on Android, HTC lineup also includes a large number of devices based on the OS Windows Mobile.
