The Israeli authorities lifted the ban on the importation of Tablet PC Apple iPad. This April 25th Reuters reports citing an official statement of the Ministry of telecommunications in the country.
On the ban on importation into Israel Tablet iPad became known on April 15, after a few citizens Apple products confiscated at the airport. Authorities explained their decision not compatible devices with the European standard wireless networks Wi-Fi, which is used in Israel. As said in the statement of the Ministry, during the week officials consulted with the device manufacturer through an independent European laboratory. As a result, authorities concluded that the iPad will be able to safely and correctly operate in the Israeli wireless networks. The Ministry has promised to return the users at the airport seized 20 tablets.
The first model iPad went on sale in the U.S. on April 3. Start date global sales were postponed until the end of May.
