AMD has released six new processors in the family of Athlon II. All of them are focused on the budget market segment and cost less than $ 150. This newspaper writes TechSpot.

The most productive of the new chips - quad-core Athlon II X4 640, which costs 122 dollars, operates at a frequency of three gigahertz, is equipped with two megabytes of cache, the second level and consumes 95 watts. His younger version of a triple core Athlon II X3 445 with a frequency of 3.1 gigahertz and a half megabytes of cache memory (512 KB per core). It costs $ 87 and also consumes 95 watts.

Power consumption is less than other chips. For example, the cheapest of chips, dual-core Athlon II X2 260, operating at a frequency of 3.1 gigahertz and is equipped with two megabytes of cache memory consumes 65 watts.

The remaining three processors consume 45 watts. The most expensive of them - Quad Athlon II X4 610e, operating at a frequency of 2.4 gigahertz and worth $ 145.
