Researchers from the University of British Columbia has introduced the pCube, allowing all sides to consider a virtual three-dimensional object or scene, writes Electronista. As the name implies, pCube a cube, in which five of the six faces busy LCD screens. With built-in accelerometer pCube determine its orientation in space and projects on different facets of a three-dimensional scene from different angles.
Externally pCube enabled screens like an aquarium, which is being studied. The latter can be shifted, shaking and tilting the cube.
The hardware consists of pCube GPU Nvidia, CNStats scene for screens using PhysX technology, the same company. One of the disadvantages of the device are too broad framework of screens on the edges of the cube. Researchers promise to significantly reduce them, replacing the LCD screen displays based on organic light-emitting diodes.
